I don&#039;t really understand your point - you&#039;ve taken Chris&#039; comment completely out of context. What he&#039;s saying is that the Long Tail doesn&#039;t have an effect if we&#039;re just talking about TV being commercial video through broadcast channels - but this simply isn&#039;t the case. 

As far as I see it it&#039;s fairly simple. Users watching (and potentially buying) niche (and in some cases user generated) content directly over the internet is going to affect the TV industry. In my opinion it will affect the industry a great deal. Anyone who doesn&#039;t believe this is going to have a shock when it actually starts to happen.
