DConstruct – talking was better than the talks

DConstruct was good fun, although as usual 90% of the value for me was outside of the talks (and it really was worth it – I had a great time).

It did leave me thinking – do we really need speakers at conferences any more?

I read so much on the web at the moment that I rarely feel wowed by talks these days. I reckon we should think more about Unconferences and spend more time talking to each other rather than just listening.

Saying that, Josh Porter stole the show and I did enjoy his bit. If you’re into social design, his blog is probably the best thing around at the moment. The book‘s very good too.

Sorry you didn’t like the talks, Antonio. Personally, I thought they were all top-notch (and I consider myself pretty jaded when it comes to conferences).
