A Network of 700 Social Reporters

I’m very much liking David Wilcox’s newly coined phrase “Social Reporter”.

(Description by Paul Henderson).
I did some social media work with arts and community organisations last year and came to realise this is exactly what they need. And building social media skills and capacity within these organisations is much harder than it sounds. Not least because they’re busy as hell already.
So, it looks like someone’s going to do something about it:
Clare White has pitched a proposal to the Ministry of Justice Building Democracy Innovation Fund for a Social Reporters Network of 700 people, to help those in communities with high levels of deprivation find their voice online.
Check out this post on David’s Social Reporter blog for more and to get involved. There’s also a group (COSMO) on the fab UnltdWorld network if you’re that way inclined. See you there.

Hi Antonia,
Great to meet you at twestival the other night. Having a quick read of your recent post, I thought you might be interested in a blog by Alice Casey of Involve
Cased (Blog) – http://cased.wordpress.com/
Involve – http://www.involve.org.uk
Alice works for an organisation that aim to improve public participation in civic life and democracy. Pretty sure David Wilcox knows them too
