Social Innovation Camp this weekend

If you’re interested in digital public services, check out some of the winning ideas for The Social Innovation Camp – all being developed into fully working prototypes this weekend.

I’ve been impressed with some of the ideas – my favourites are:

Vegsy

To bring together people who grow food in their home, allotment, small holding or farm with people who want to buy locally produced, natural, wholesome foods. Provide an easy to use, online marketplace.

Loving the name just as much as the idea – Etsy is one of the great achievements of the web in my opinion.

AccessCity

To develop a site to enable a user-generated view of London (in the first instance, but with the ability to be rolled out nationally and beyond) from an accessibility perspective.

Again – brilliant idea. Not sure how the data entry’s going to work but obviously fills a genuine need.

I wonder if any of these will end up as 4iP projects?

I’m going to try to head to the final Show and Tell Sunday on the 7th – looking forward to it.
